Nano Live

Nano live 3D cell explorer is holo-tomographic microscopy that measures the quantitative refractive index of cell organelles.

You can image live cells in 3D without stains, fixation, or phototoxicity.

For example:

Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells undergoing mitosis with Nanolive imaging

Holotomographic label-free 3D visualization of C.elegans

Label-free Live Cell Imaging: Activated T-Cell Killing Cancer Cell

The system is equipped with an environmental control unit that controls the temperature and CO2 content inside the imaging chamber and enables visualization of label-free unstained 3D cells.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • How to save and access my data?

Save the data in:

→ open the driver data (D :) “Data_Bioimg”

→ open folder with your Weizmann user name

→ open a new folder with the date (crucial)

→ save the data (characters like ~!@#$%^&*()`;’:<>,/?[]{}  are not allowed, and files including them are not copied)

Once you are done, the computer will synchronize the correctly saved data to the “bioimg” server.

To see the data on your PC, follow the instructions in this link: BioImg Storage Server system.

**When starting to work with the Bioimaging system for the first time, please make sure you have a UNIX ID added to your WIS ID (you can check it with your unit administrator)
  • How can I visualize the data on my pc?

You can work on one of our Image Analysis Software and Workstations

How do I start?

  1. Turn ON the computer.

  2. Remove the cover from the microscope.

  3. Turn ON the microscope.

  4. If needed: turn on the temperature control panel, pump, and CO2.

  5. If the temperature is working, fill the baths with DDW.

  6. Enter “STEVE” software.

  7. Place your sample in the microscope.

  8. Start imaging.

  9. Save the data in data (D :) “Data_Bioimg.”

→ open folder with your Weizmann user name

→ open a new folder with the date

    → save the data

  10. Turn OFF the software (leave the computer on).

  11. Turn OFF the microscope and the temperature control.
